As a poke skeptic, I was led in here with apprehension by my girlfriend. I got a medium bowl with soba noodles and was blown away with how fresh, clean, and delicious it was.

THEN, I treated her to the omakase dinner for her birthday. The poke is phenomenal, but the omakase? Well... it's transcendent. Easily one of the best meals I've ever had in my life.

When you make a reservation for one of these masterpiece-meals, chef Brian meticulously sources and purchases every sea critter you'll dine on. He's happy to tell you about them, too. If you're a curious mind, he'll let you know about the what/where/why/how/when (... who?), what cut of the fish you're eating, its unique characteristics, and the preparation. In addition, everyone's sense of humor and hospitality here make it such a fun place to eat. A lot of good souls working in this kitchen.

But it wouldn't mean shit if the food was nothing but absolute heavenly ambrosia from Poseidon himself. The octopus was one of the best bites I've ever had; fresh, expertly cut, and finished with a blow torch for some smoky flavor, it had the mouthfeel of STEAK FILLET. Brian massaged it for 45 mins with salt to make it unbelievably tender and perfectly seasoned. He must have Popeye forearms to put that much love into 2 slices of food. If you go here, walk up to him, stare dead in his eyes, and start caressing his forearms. Don't even ask permission. He loves it.

The king salmon that Brian also made and the pan seared fillet that came out of the kitchen were also 6/5 stars (in comparison to every other dish, which gets 5/5 stars). The seasoning was deeply permeated through the fillet and it was flaky, moist, and delicate. It was served it with a bright, tangy, creamy sauce with roe in it that I literally scraped off the plate with my finger. I can't recall the kitchen chef's name, but he also has unbelievable talent.

I am going to do this dinner for every special occasion I can from now on. If you think you've discovered everything sushi/seafood has to offer, think again. This meal will unveil new horizons of how undeniably delectable the sea can be.

Tasty food, however I have a crustacean allergy and did experience a reaction despite ordering zero crustaceans, and will note that despite eating poke regularly, I have never had a reaction at any other poke place. We made sure we observed the fellow who assembled my bowl change gloves, but I also watched the owner use his gloved hand to grab crab, and then use the same glove to grab wasabi from a covered styrofoam container, and then grab rice with the same gloved hand for a subsequent bowl. So, If you have food allergies, be warned: PokeMotto's protocols will not keep you safe, nor should they really past food inspection. You'd think the restaurant would have a utensil for grabbing rice, which would not come into contact with other ingredients. Maybe they do, and just don't always use it.

Hopefully anyone else with an allergy fairs better than I did.

    NOT COMING BACK!!
This  Mike , I think is his name..came out the back talking about,
"Hi, Hector, I heard you had a problem with one of my co-workers..."
(Straight out of left field). ..but I'm just trying to get some poke not into a fight. It's unprofessional, and disrespectful. The other

I had come to PokeMotto for reasonably high quality poke before, but last night I attended PokeMotto for my first Omakase experience, and to celebrate my birthdate.
We shared the table with another party, and Brian and them made this Omakase experience feel warm, welcoming and fun. Brian seriously did an amazing job being friendly, explaining our courses, and keeping the night interesting.
I tried so many different things, so many new things, and had a wonderful night. Trust him and put your night in his hands for a fun, delicious and unique experience. On top of it, so reasonably priced.
I can't wait to come back, for both poke and Omakase, knowing that I can support such a wonderful business.

Ordered the Dragon Sushi Burrito and Baby Lobster via Postmates! Wow, best delivered Sushi experience. This place is a gem, will be ordering weekly. Extra perk was that our order was delivered quick and you can request some amazing sauces on the side.
